Me and my co-workers took Bens class to conceal carry.   Ben had a wealth of knowledge he taught us about the inner and outer working of a gun.  Made the class environment very relaxing and easy to understand.  I would recommend Ben highly.  .......  Aug 2022

I took the CCW class in August. Ben was truly knowledgeable and informant. He will teach you in relaxed but serious environment. This class is not a game, there can be serious consequences if you decide to carry. Ben will make sure you have all the knowledge if you do so. Thank you again........      Aug 2022


Ben was very fun and energetic during his class, but when he really wants you to remember the importance of handling a firearm he made sure you remember it. It’s a great class to take to learn about firearm especially with Ben, he’s knowledgeable and has years of experience. .... Aug 2022

I just finished the conceal and carry course with Ben and was very impressed with the info presented, the knowledge and experience he provided, and the instruction in not only knowing my gun but how to effectively carry it. Ben was able to answer all questions and gave a wonderful class. Highly recommended for anyone at any level of gun experience!

I can’t imagine taking this class with any other instructor. I’ve been around firearms practically my entire life, and Ben has a unique way of making his classes enjoyable and informative to everyone from a novice to an expert marksman. His knowledge is second to none, his ability to teach so that everyone not only learns but retains is remarkable. A 16 hour class is not fun by any means but Ben makes the time fly by with his personality and style of teaching. Do yourself a favor and contact Ben for your future training needs.   Oct 2022

MD Conceal Carry Class - 4/5-6/2023 
I just completed Ben's MD Conceal Carry Class over the past 2 days. I have to say that I learned a lot from him over the course of the past 2 days. It was a refreshing change to have a class that was not straight out of the training manual. Ben made the course interesting and engaging with his comments and personal experiences. Many trainers always have the answers, but Ben wants to know your answer and why. It really helped to reinforce the lessons of the training because everyone can learn something new, especially from the other students in the class. I would highly recommend training with Ben as you will learn more than just the text in the training manual. You will learn things you can carry with you for the rest of your life.  


 

NRA Courses - 
RSO Class

Took Bens Range Safety Officer class a number of years ago.  He taught and reinforced the importance of maintaining a safe environment on and around a firearms range.   I use his teaching whenever I am in charge of a Range.  Thanks Ben  

10-15-2022 I attended Ben's NRA Basic Range Safety Officer Course on a Saturday in October 2022. Ben provided excellent instruction on becoming a range safety officer. He was patient and thorough with the material. The class was small and the practical exercises may have been better if the class were larger; to learn and engage with others is valuable as well. Ben's co-lead Alex taught the Emergency Plan section of the book and offered insight and answered questions. Overall the instruction was clear and concise. I would encourage others to attend classes with Ben.

Very informative presentation

Good in raising situational awareness, but would be nice if more in depth info on the next steps. Should promote firearm safety: ie more especially for women.

Very interesting and enlightening.

Learned many security measures to the home. More info on situational analysis( awareness).

Appreciated this class very much. Engaging, excellent, knowledgeable and wonderful instructor.

Ladies Basic Pistol Course
Hello Ben, Thank you for the beginners gun class last weekend. I really enjoyed it and I learned so much. I went into the class never having shot a gun and not being comfortable around them. The feeling I got from handling a gun was like when I was 16 and got my drivers license. I can do this. In the class safety was stressed over and over. The team you had was excellent and all of you were very patient with us. Thank you. I would love to come out there and shoot with some help. I do not have a gun yet and still not sure what to get, either a 22 or 38. I think every high school student should have a class like this. I am encouraging other women to take the class and I have some interested. Thank you so much

Thank you Ben for your email. I really enjoyed the class. I am glad you brought so many types of guns for us to try and for your teaching on safety. We covered a lot. I particularly am grateful for the patience of all of you. I would like to come shoot again. Still deciding what to get, either a 22 or 38. How do I get in touch? How do I join the Isaac Walton league? Thank you again

 

Hunter Education

I’ve been in Ben’s Hunter’s Safety Class three times now. Once for myself and once with each of my daughters. As a lifelong outdoorsman’s and hunter my daughters had only recently taken an interest. Entering the class each of them had little if any experience around guns or in the hunting woods and they each came out both confident in their knowledge and ability to safely handle a firearm. I cannot imagine anyone else teaching with such a personal touch and investment in each of his students. To not only learn the material presented but also be able to retain the material, then safely and confidently put the lessons to use. Ben is a true asset to the NRA, the Izaak Walton League and sportsman everywhere! Thank you sir for all you do!!! 

I didn't remember Ben, but 30 years ago he was my hunter safety course instructor at IWLA. Ben is a fantastic, animated, professional, that teaches in a manner that's rare. He will capture your attention and make you retain all his knowledge of classroom material, as well as make you smile and laugh. My class was entirely beginners and the questions where off topic and typically common sense. But Ben has a delicate and amusing way to keep the class moving, as well as inspirit you to participate in what could be dull. Ben is 1 of 3 NRA Masters, and the #1 best classroom instructor I've ever had the pleasure to obse

Coach Ben creates a community. He learns about each student and family. Coach Ben believes in fellowship and bringing people together with a meal. He often shares funny stories and good advice about life. He brings in experts (along with himself) to teach the kids and give direction on specific skills.....Aug 2022.

Thanks for a great practice today and thanks to Coach Tom for his shotgun instruction. Coach Tom worked with our youth shotgunners and we saw some really impressive breaks, not to mention throwing!  .....  Aug 2022

I now have two kids in Coach Ben’s youth program at the Frederick IWLA Chapter #1. They really enjoy the program and learning how to shoot various disciplines like rifle, muzzleloader, and shotgun.  The yearly competition is great and the teams place very high in competition.  I highly recommend this program to any parent.
