Maryland Handgun Training Courses

Handgun Qualifications Lic.

The Handgun QALIFICATIONS License or "HQL" is  required by anyone who wishes to purchase a pistol before taking ownership of the firearm. This class teaches the basics for handgun safety and maintenance. This is a 4 hour course

 

Concealed Wear and Carry Permit

The State of Maryland allows for the issuance of concealed carry permits for both resident and non-resident applicants. This unique state endorsed 16 hour program requires extensive classroom training, as well as live fire qualifying at the range. Due to reciprocity laws, the Maryland concealed carry permit is currently recognized in 26 additional states. This means that if you are a Maryland resident with a valid Maryland concealed carry permit, you can legally carry concealed in any of the other 26 states recognizing the Maryland permit. The course includes lecture on safety, lecture on use of force and legal responsibilities, lecture on care & use of a handgun, and finally pass a qualifying live fire exercise

Maryland Qualified Handgun Instructor

Candidates must take a 4 hour Instructor Prep Course that includes requirements and Methods for qualified Handgun Instructors and complete a Qualified Handgun Instructor Application.
